Accompanied by his parents, the suspect turned himself in on Friday, March 27, 2026—five days after the incident that claimed the life of the victim, PJ (43).

The violent incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, March 22, 2026, around 3:00 a.m. local time, at Darma Agung Nightclub on Jalan Kolonel H. Burlian.

The victim was found collapsed with a stab wound to the head and was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at Siti Fatimah Hospital.

According to investigators, the altercation began as a dispute between suspect KA and a witness identified as F at the venue’s entrance security checkpoint (scanning area). The verbal argument quickly escalated into a physical fight.

PJ, who happened to be at the scene, attempted to intervene and assist witness F. However, without warning, KA stabbed the victim once in the head, causing him to collapse immediately.

Following the incident, Unit 1 of Subdirectorate III (Jatanras), Directorate of General Crime Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of Polda Sumsel promptly secured and processed the crime scene, cordoned off the area, collected CCTV footage, and interviewed multiple witnesses.

Director of General Crime Investigation for Polda Sumsel, Johannes Bangun, confirmed that the suspect is being charged under Article 262 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) concerning collective violence in public, with a subsidiary charge under Article 466 KUHP for assault resulting in death.

“We guarantee that every perpetrator will be prosecuted according to the law. There is zero tolerance for acts of violence that result in loss of life,” Johannes emphasized.
